Building labs with advanced tools to support more majors than ever before.

The Department of Natural Sciences is growing! We are now supporting students in four majors: Biology, Medical Humanities, Nursing, and Pre-Med. Our labs are full and we need to provide our students with the standard tools of science found in professional labs and universities across the country.

Donor support will help us acquire 15 microscopes and 40 pipettes to support the increasing number of students learning inside the labs at Saint Leo.

Enriching the experiences of more than 500 students each semester.

Your generous contribution will help enrich the experiences of hundreds of students pursuing their bachelor’s degrees in biology, medical humanities, and nursing who take numerous laboratory courses to fulfill the requirements of their academic programs. Donations will make it possible to upgrade our labs by purchasing a new set of pipettes and compound light microscopes with image capture abilities to use in teaching laboratory classes such as microbiology and human anatomy & physiology. Our lab upgrade will also include the purchase of two analytical balances for use in our general, organic, and environmental chemistry laboratory classes.

"We're improving students' abilities to learn & prepare for future STEM careers."

Helping us acquire new, advanced laboratory tools improves students' abilities to learn and prepare themselves for the types of laboratory equipment they are likely to encounter in their future STEM careers. Thank you so much for your support! We are most appreciative.  - Dr. Laura Altfeld, Chair, Department of Natural Sciences
