Creating a successful start for first-year students through LEAP.
LEAP, known on campus as the Lions Enrichment and Achievement Program, is a pivotal retention program for incoming freshmen students who come to Saint Leo with lower than standard high school GPAs.
The LEAP program brings eligible students to campus one week prior to the start of their freshmen semester to provide them with the full range of support they need to be successful once classes are in full-swing. This complimentary program includes completion of the 1-credit freshman First Year Experience class, learning about the campus and all of its available resources, personalized advising, and relationship-building with faculty and students.
Students remain in their LEAP cohort throughout the Fall and Spring semesters of their first year, taking some of their classes with their summer LEAP professors.
"We're relaunching a program for first-year students who need it most."
Donor support will make it possible for us to relaunch the program. Generous donations will help to fund the housing and dining expenses for a program that will ensure a successful start to our first-year students who need it the most. - Heather R.
