Serving the military community with pride.
Almost five decades ago, Saint Leo University brought college courses and degree programs to students at MacDill Air Force Base and Avon Park Bombing Range in Florida. Today, we take great pride in our long history of educating the nation’s military, veterans, and their families.
Our military-supportive approach continues to remain strong:
• Understanding that military work schedules are not 40-hour-a-week jobs. Our faculty members work with active-duty military students to accommodate the many demands of their time.
• Assisting military veterans in making the transition to civilian life through the Office of Military Affairs and Services which also provides a Military Resource Center where actively serving military and veterans have a dedicated, comfortable space complete with computers, TV, refrigerator, a patio overlooking the lake, and student vets staffing the Center.
• Utilizing a Veteran Student Emergency Fund that provides veterans emergency financial assistance. This ensures that veterans can continue their education even when real-life crises occur.
• Maintaining annual education and programming including the Veterans Appreciation Month in November, Green Zone training for faculty and staff, recreational events like the Veterans 5K, the POW-MIA table in the Dining Hall, and much more.
Keeping our promise.
The Military Education Excellence fund allows Saint Leo to carry on its 50-year tradition as one of America’s largest, most committed providers of higher education in the U.S. military. Investing in military education helps provide special services and support to servicemembers, veterans, and their family members enrolled in our degree programs, either at campus, online, or at education centers on military bases.
“The Veterans Emergency Fund kept me able to support my family.”
Having two tires shredded at once was going to complicate traveling to work and campus. But the Veterans Emergency Fund kept me able to support my family while finishing my degree. Thanks for being there for me. – Saint Leo student
