Building a contemporary academic experience for today’s nursing students.
When the Bachelor of Science in Nursing was launched in 2021, the College of Health Professions emerged as the university’s newest college dedicated to the advancement of healthcare. Saint Leo is not only building a degree program that helps to address the need for more nursing professionals in a vast number of complex healthcare systems in Florida and the Southeast, but also is transforming the culture of nursing. As we prepare students for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam, our program is inspired by a “simple-to-complex” curriculum that educates students on the foundations of professional nursing, and then advances to coursework and clinical that include lab, hands-on simulation, preceptorships, and onsite health care and community experiences with partners, including AdventHealth.
Implementing a cutting-edge nursing program to prepare future practitioners.
This is a pivotal year for Saint Leo’s nursing program. As Saint Leo’s first class of nursing students prepares to graduate, we must also support the future of the program by pursuing program excellence and student success. Your donations will help in our efforts to complete the transformation of our nursing labs and classrooms, build the skills of our team, and provide academic scholarships to the growing number of students with financial need. With your support, you can also create a foundation of tradition by funding the inaugural Pinning Ceremony of Saint Leo’s first graduating class of nurses in 2025.
“We will build connections between patient health and community health.”
We are committed to teaching nursing students within a Culture of Health framework so that every Saint Leo graduate builds the connection between patient health and community health. – Kathy VanEerden, Ph.D., R.N., Dean of the College of Health Professions
